The password will be ‘casl’ (lower case) on all the galleries.

From this past weekend I’ve got about 350 pictures that I’ve flagged that I’ll export to print quality JPG’s and cut them onto a CD for anyone on the team who wants them to print or use on facebook, etc…

Team Notes – August 15th (Please Read)

I hope that everyone has had a nice weekend and that the boys had a good first week of training. I’m sorry we haven’t been there – but as many of you heard, Andrew caught a nasty virus last week and missed the entire week of practice. We will be back on Tuesday for the scrimmage game.

The good news is that Conner RC is back from vacation and we should have a full squad as we prepare for Charlotte this weekend (and moving forward).

Now, the notes:

1. Training this week will be Monday and Wednesday ONLY as we’ll be traveling to Charlotte on Friday for the tournament. Do not come to WRAL on Friday.

2. We have a full squad for the scrimmage Tuesday night against the CASL Hawks. They will be wearing black – so let’s just wear our YTS T-Shirts and black shorts for the game. We will start around 6:15P so please be to Dunkin Donuts (#9) no later than 6:00P. We will finish around 7:30P.

3. I will send a separate email out later today about the tournament this weekend.

Let me know if you have any questions or need anything

Welcome: William Sheehan

All-

I am very happy to announce that we’ve added a 12th player for the upcoming season by the name of William Sheehan. William’s parents are Allison and Jeff Sheehan.

He has been out at Team Camp and is now officially on the squad. If you are there tonight at camp – I’ll make sure to point William out.

Welcome!

Team Camp Notes – August 1st

A few final notes:

1. Please be at the Fieldhouse by no later than 3:50P today so we can finish the team carding processing. For those of you who can’t make it – we’ll make arrangements upon your return.

2. There will be two boys out today: Mihir and Conner. As far as I know, everyone else will be there. Please advise if you can’t make it.

3. There are no pre-set fields for Team Camp – once we are done with carding, we will go outside as all the players will be at the Stadium and will be instructed on where to go (see the note below from Jean). I know that doesn’t help with parking and pick up – but it is how they are handling it each day. Team camp is 4:30P-6:30P.

Dear Managers,

Please let your team members know that all players are supposed to meet on Durham Bulls field (Stadium) at 4:30 each day of team camp. The coaches will take the players to their assigned fields each day following the daily demo that is part of camp.

Have a great weekend! See you next week.

4. I will have the T-Shirts for each family there at 3:50P – so if you are new to the Classic/YTS program, you can put it on right there (which you will need to do).

5. There is no camp tomorrow – and then again on Wednesday and Thursday. Next week we will fall back to M/W/F.

6. Scrimmage – a scrimmage has been organized for Tuesday, August 16th at 7:00P (Field TBD). We will be playing a U11 Challenge team that evening to give Coach Eric the chance to see the boys play prior to Charlotte.

7. Team Fees – thanks to all of you that have worked with Jodi to get your $267 in for team fees. If there are any issues, Jodi will make me aware and we’ll take the appropriate steps to rectify.

It is going to be a great year and it all starts today. See you at WRAL!

Team Notes – July 24 (Important – Please Read)

A few important items as we near the start of Team Camp on August 1st:

1. Player Cards – Monday August 1st

One of the most important pre-season tasks we must complete is getting the boys player cards ready. CASL helps us with this process by assigning some time prior to one of the Team Camp sessions to have us complete the cards. Our session has been set for Monday, August 1st at 3:50P upstairs at the Fieldhouse at WRAL. At that time, the boys will sign their card – confirm the information and then have them laminated. As of know, I know that Mihir and Conner will be absent so I’ll work with them directly to have it completed.

2. Practice T-Shirts

I picked up the Classic Practice T-Shirts on Friday so we need to figure out a time to pass them out to everyone. Worst case – I can meet prior to the start of Team Camp and hand them out. I was also thinking that – for anyone who is in town next Saturday – we could meet for lunch somewhere – let the boys hangout and give them out then. Let me know what works best for all of you. And to our YTS friends – they are exactly the same as last year.

3. Uniform Ordering Issues

I’ve been alerted by a few families that Eurosport is claiming that there are “delays” in the logos being available for the uniform(s). Please let me know if that applies to you and I’ll escalate it myself.

Countdown is 7 days from tomorrow – see you then.

Practice Schedule – Fall 2011

Here’s the U11 training schedule – starting on August 8th – for the boys:

Monday’s – 4:30 – 6:00P – WRAL – Sherwin Williams (Grass) - this is in the way back of WRAL (Field 8 on the map)

Wednesday’s – 4:30 – 6:00P – Cedar Fork #3 - not the same location as YTS – more towards the middle

Friday’s – 4:30 – 6:00P – WRAL – Centex - on the immediate right when you pull into WRAL

This doesn’t apply to Team Camp which is starting on August 1st at WRAL (field TBD).

Team Notes – July 11

1. Team Camp starts on August 1st at WRAL – I believe that the sessions are around 4:00P but will get confirmation in the next few weeks.
2. Absences – if you already know you are going to miss a training session in August, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make Coach Eric and John Bradford aware.
3. Uniforms – by now everyone should have ordered – if not received – their required uniform from Eurosport.  You will need to have the uniforms received by August 5th if you are playing in the Chelsea 3′s and by no later than August 19th for the Visit Lake Norman.org Kickoff in Charlotte, NC.  I have been asked by several people if “they had to order everything that is required” and have answered that my official position as Team Manager is that you must order everything that it tells you.  That said, my unofficial answer is that (other than the uniform) – order what you want, but just know that someone from CASL may say something to you at some point if you are missing something that was listed as required.
4. Team Fees – Coach Eric, Jodi Bulmer and I have been working over the past few weeks on the budget and want to let you know that the fee for Fall 2011 will be $267/player.  I will present everyone with a copy of the budget in the next week, but this money is for everything from Tournament Fees, to Field Rental and Referee fees, as well as equipment and Coach Eric’s per diems.  Once we have opened a bank account (this week) – we will provide you information on how to deposit money into the account directly.   That money will be due by July 29th into the account and if your money is not in the account by that date – we will have to alert CASL and your child might not be able to participate in Team Camp on August 1st.  Jodi will be the point person on this item once the account is opened, but want you to know that we will provide complete transparency to you for what the money is being allotted to as we spend it.  Please remember that this is new for us and we are doing the best we can with the information provided.
5. Schedule – we are one game a way from being able to confirm the Fall 2011 schedule with you, but I can give you a quick outline of what it looks like right now so you can begin to prepare your own personal calendar (**this is subject to change until confirmation from CASL & NCYSA**):
Games tentatively scheduled as follows (and will be adding one last game very shortly):
August 20 & 21 (Sat & Sun) – Visit Lake Norman.org Kickoff
August 26 (Fri)
September 10 (Sat)
September 24 (Sat)
October 1 (Sat)
October 7 (Fri)
October 15 (Sat)
November 5 (Sat)
November 12 & 13 (Sat & Sun) – CASL Shootout
This leaves us – right now – with the following open weekends for which one will be used to play the last game we have to schedule:
September 3rd (Labor Day Weekend)
September 17th
October 22nd
October 29th
6. Scrimmages – as an FYI, we are going to also schedule a few scrimmages both in the August timeframe as well as during the season when we have no games scheduled.  Be on the lookout for information-
Please let me know if you have any questions and enjoy the last few weeks of July.

Notes – June 21

A few quick notes from June 21:
  • I have turned in all the forms to CASL today.  If you haven’t given me your check authorization form – you must send it directly to CASL if you want automatic bank draft.  Thanks to everyone for giving me the information in such a timely manner.
  • Let me know if you are having any problems ordering the uniforms through Eurosport.  I completed Andrew’s the other day and once you hit the “required” button on the left (thanks Doug) – it is pretty straight forward.
  • Website - I’ll begin to update the website in the next few weeks.
  • Game scheduling – I am currently working with the other U11 Team Managers to start setting some dates down for our internal games.  I’ll update everyone accordingly.
  • Lastly, as we discussed during our meeting, the tournament schedule for the boys is written in “sand pen” and I am already hearing rumblings that we won’t be going to Charlotte on the 20th and 21st of August, but now may be going somewhere else on Labor Day.  Although I’ve never been one to let facts get in the way of good fiction, I think at this point I’ll just wait until I hear officially from John and Paul about the plans before I advise further about the tournament plans.  The only definite tournament is the CASL Shootout in November.
Best wishes and take care-
